Natural soap attracts moisture because of its glycerin content. When it sits in water, the bar can become soft or slimy.
Solution:
Use a slatted or draining soap dish so water runs away and air can circulate. This helps the bar dry and prevents waste.
Handmade soap benefits from proper storage. If it’s kept somewhere cool and dry, it can actually harden slightly over time and last longer when you use it.
Solution:
Store unused soap in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, such as a linen cupboard or drawer. Avoid sealed containers that trap moisture.
