Amber Road , Born from Country Winters and Open Wood Fires

There's something about growing up in the country that never really leaves you.

I grew up in a tiny Australian town built around the lumber yard. Timber trucks rolled through daily, the scent of fresh-cut wood permanently in the air. Life was simple, outdoorsy, and wild in the best possible way.

A Childhood Built Outdoors

We were surrounded by horses and bushland. Summers were spent swimming in the MacDonald River, and by the time we were 13, most of us had already learnt to drive along dusty country tracks.

But it was winter that really stayed with me.

The frost and cold were relentless. I still remember the icy winds cutting through the valley and the relief of finally getting back inside at the end of the day. Open wood fires burned constantly through winter, and the crackle of timber and warmth of the fire felt comforting in a way only country winters can understand.

The Memory Behind the Fragrance

Looking back now, Amber Road was born from those memories.

The scent of burning wood, dry timber, and smoky air drifting through old homes on freezing evenings. The feeling of coming inside, cold hands wrapped around a warm mug of Milo, while the fire glowed quietly in the background.

When I created Amber Road, I wanted it to feel nostalgic, warm, and familiar. Like lighting a fire on a cold winter night and instantly feeling at home.

Amber Road is one of our most-loved winter fragrances and it's easy to understand why. Smoky, woody, and deeply comforting, it's the kind of scent that makes any space feel like a country homestead on a cold evening.
