Tiki Island, Inspired by a Little Piece of Fiji Paradise

BULA, my beautiful candle friends.

Back in the 90s, I used to take the kids to Fiji all the time. But of all the trips we took, one place has stayed with me more than any other, a tiny island in the Yasawa group called Tavewa Island.

Eight Hours to Paradise

It took us eight hours on an old post boat to get there. And when we arrived, there wasn't much more than a little beach shack, cold water, mosquito nets, and salty air.

But somehow… it was perfect.

We stayed with the beautiful Otto & Fanny, who welcomed everyone with the warmest smiles. Every day was filled with fresh tropical fruit, coconuts, open cooking fires, and fish cooked straight from the ocean. The kids ran barefoot around the island, learnt to snorkel on the reef, and spent their days completely free.

Rough Around the Edges in the Best Possible Way

Tavewa had no luxury, no distractions. Just simple living, beautiful people, and the reminder that the best things in life are often the simplest.

Years later, it wasn't the five-star resorts I remembered.

It was that little island.

That's why I created Tiki Island.
